We had our first real race last weekend - but not in Orleans parish, about an hour away, and we already had plans. There will be other somewhat local races coming back over the next few weeks!
That course sounds hard. Any course that trashes your legs early is a tough one to finish! Cool that you were able to serve as unofficial pacer for a few other runners. I love having someone steady to pull me along in a race. Your getting pretty good at sorting out what is most important in a race and not always focused on the FT and/or PR as the primary goal and ultimate reward. And that is a great feeling when others tell you they were using you as their pacer! And that's simply a compliment to your running/racking abilities. A 1:37 half-marathon a very respectable FT considering the course terrain. And your Coach is very smart to advise you focus on placement and not the FT/PR. Cool you found the little zoo to stop at and get close-up of zebras! I just started running (biking and swimming) last year after losing 60 pounds and vowing to turn my life around. My favorite part of doing this is meeting amazing people like you. So glad you and Greg made the trip...except I would have had an AG award if Greg didn’t show 😂. Great run you had even with the hills. Hope to “run” into both of you at a race in the future. By the way, I do have Boston on my mind as well...maybe I should read your book.
-Rob Kole
Carlisle PAOutKickUhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06926466126983985123noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2189875022254484779.post-48985462845469478882020-10-04T19:36:34.507-04:002020-10-04T19:36:34.507-04:00YES!
